An Easter Egg Layer – Photo Of The Week

I call this chicken my Americauna but my friend who is a Biology teacher thinks she is an Arucana and he is probably right….I don’t teach Biology but either way she is one of my Easter Egg layers and lays the most beautiful pale green eggs!

Raising chickens in your own back yard is probably one of the simplest and most rewarding homesteading pursuits in my opinion.  Yes you need to clean the coop but you get the best and most fresh tasting eggs well so to me its well worth it!
