Tomorrow is Valentines Day and some folks are glad for it, others think its too commercial, and well I think it’s a day for you to tell folks you love that their pretty special. It takes a lot of bravery to be such a romantic at heart I can even be a complete cornball but I don’t mind because it means I am living my life and not holding back something that more of us should do. I obviously will tell my sweetheart that I am just head over heels in love with him but as a family we have a family tradition every year for the four of us to have a special candlelight dinner. No matter how tired we are and no matter how busy we are we try to do this. Some years it has been take out chinese which I learned about in one of my favorite books Frugal Luxuries by Tracey Mcbride which is in my Favorite Books on the right side bar of my blog page. if you are a parent that feels like you are struggling to make events special in your life in a frugal fashion than this is the book for you. That being said I know one day my kids will go off and have their own Valentines but maybe they will come back and join us you never know! This year we are splurging we got some BOGO’s and some deals at a local gourmet food store and we are going to go all out for our dinner for the 4 of us will be about $40.00 I know it’s a lot but it’s a special day I am celebrating the love with my family. We are having shrimp and lobster tails! Yes my husband and I could go out just the two of us but we already have one foot in the empty nest we already know what it’s about and we get plenty of couple time these days.
Every year I always have something different to post and I think last year I posted my favorite love stories in the form of movies so this year I decided to post some of my favorite love songs! I love having a fun, silly post for all of my blog readers to enjoy!
I also think that Valentines can be for everyone so whether you are with your love, in between loves, have decided to go solo or are single by life’s circumstances. Just know I wish you a Beautiful Valentines Day! I am so appreciative that you took the time to come over here and read my lil’ blog!
So this year for fun I am going to post some of my favorite love songs some of these are older but most of you will remember them! If you have a favorite love song that you cherish please comment to me not only what the song is but why it’s your favorite. I absolutely love to hear your comments and if you are missing a loved one this year please feel free to share that here with me too. I am still missing my Grandma who I recently lost….I miss all ofmy grandparents but this Grandma and I talked on a regular basis and she was such a kindred spirit with my she as indeed a farm girl at heart.
