Take A Pause For The Memorial Day Holiday
Today is a day to pause and be thankful for all of our men and woman in our armed forces for the United States of America who have served. I live near the beach so we definitely know how much folks like to take advantage of this extra day and get some sun and fun in.
We know especially because of the traffic LOL that lots of people are spending there day today at the beach or grilling out or just spending time with family and friends but I think it’s so important to pause and be thankful for the men and woman who gave their lives for our freedom.
I know longer work at an elementary school as I shared in my 2014 Memorial Day post; I now work at a University but I still have this holiday off so it was important to me to share my gratitude on my blog with all of you.
Yes we are going to be grilling this afternoon for sure. The Viking marinated turkey legs all last night and we are having watermelon and corn on the cob and while I do I am going to sit on our patio that is 5/8 done and I am going to be taking a minute to be silent (Yes I can do this) and just be thankful for those who made the ultimate sacrifice and if you have a minute I hope you do too.
I wish all of my fellow Americans a beautiful Memorial Day holiday and for those who don’t celebrate this holiday in other parts of the world I hope you are all having a beautiful start to your summer.
Along with this post I thought I would share with all of you a “sneak peek” patio progress picture for all of you. I know I Haven’t shared but we have been working on this DIY project since March and it is finally coming along.
Soon I will be posting about the patio from beginning to end with all of you. We are hoping to have our patio done in time for another very important US Holiday Independence Day but for now I am content with my portion of patio to sit on. We did already have a spot on the patio that sunk and we do realize that but the Viking is going to be reinforcing this; we had a huge storm that came through and we had a hole in the timbers that let the sand leak through.
Contentment and gratitude are both attributes I am striving for and I should add that I am grateful for all of you readers as well.
I wish you all a beautiful week….until next time…
Fondly,
