DIY: Coconut, Balsam BEE’rd Balm
I finally tried making our own homemade DIY: Coconut, Balsam BEE’rd Balm and I have to say I think it turned out wonderful. I confess that it did take me a bit to convince the Viking in my life that he needed to try this too. It also makes a great cuticle moisturizer if I do say so myself. It was actually my husband’s idea to do the play on the word “Bee” in the title. I love it and think it’s so fun!
DIY: Coconut, Balsam BEE’rd Balm
Makes about a dozen 2″ tins
Ingredients:
- 6 oz. Beeswax
- 6 oz. Coconut Oil
- 5 Capsules Vitamin E Oil
- 6 oz. Shea Butter or Cocoa Butter or you could do a blend of both you may have to play with this proportion until you find a happy medium for you!
- 13 drops of rosemary essential oil
- 7 drops of balsam fir essential oil
Instructions:
- In a double boiler or very thick cast iron pot (NOTE: you have to worry about flash point with beeswax) heat your beeswax, shea butter, and coconut oil up until all of it is melted.
- Lastly shake 20 drops of the essential oil of your choice into the beard balm mixture.
- Pour mixture into tins and let cool
Place molds over aluminum foil so you can reuse any excess.
I hope you enjoy this recipe and these make great gifts if I do say so myself. As you all know, I’m a huge fan of homemade gifts, they are my favorite!
I wish you all a beautiful week! Until next time!
