The Viking and I love it when we get to do product reviews and this time was no exception we were both excited to try Valley Food Storage long term food solution products which have up to a 25 year shelf life and the best part made with out msg, without transfats, and no cholesterol. Recently I had a wonderful opportunity to speak with James Talboe one of the founders of Valley Food Storage and interview him on the Prepper Broadcasting Network and here is a link to the show it was very engaging and informative!

The Viking and I love to can, dehydrate, garden and more but we are in no way able to provide all of our food storage with that alone so we have decided this year we will need to ramp up our efforts and we do have canned food as well but we need to keep long-term food storage for up to 25 years on hand as well!

Cooking with Valley Food Storage products is ridiculously easy even I can’t mess it up when it’s a crazy live radio show night and I am running around like a crazy person getting my notes together. In the case of the White Bean & Lime Chili you simply pour 5 1/2 cups water into a pot and get it boiling, pour in the contents of your mylar packed product, and let boil gently for about 15 to 20 minutes, and then we let it stand on the stove top for 5 to 7 minutes to thicken following the packaging guidelines. This product says it is 5 servings but it is loaded with beans and nutritious ingredients so we were stuffed after one serving although the Viking managed to eat 2 servings…this package will feed 5 people very happily! This White Bean & Lime Chili is gluten free as well so if gluten free is an issue or if you deal with other allergens this company is also working to meet your nutrition needs. You can see the peppers in this chili and you can taste the garlic and cumin it truly is very yummy….isn’t it nice to know when you are in the midst of an emergency you have a food product that is actually tasty?

I love that they have samples on their website so you can try different products to see what you like before you make a larger order. Also they do have several other options in terms of dehydrated food for camping because many of you know how much the Viking and I love camping as well!

Valley Food Storage is continuing to look to add more new and innovative products which I discovered when I was interviewing James Talboe on of their founders…they are looking to add more low carb options and possibly energy bars in the future!
